Covid-19 - Self Isolation and Social Distancing

You will all be aware of the Government and Health departments providing the latest information on Covid - 19 and all the advice regarding self-isolating and social distancing.

We are following Government guidelines and introducing new measures to protect you and our staff:

  • The office will be open but may be operating on reduced hours

  • We will be dealing with emergency repairs with routine and non-urgent maintenance suspended

  • We are currently servicing the stairwells and common rooms to keep these clean for the staff and residents who are not self-isolating

  • Our email in-boxes are still being monitored, and we are available by phone

    If you are self-isolating, make sure you tell your flatmates, and also advise the office so we are aware. If there are emergency works required in your flat we will need to make special arrangements.

    **If you need an urgent repair outside office hours- in the evening or over the weekend- you can contact the Living Support team or security staff at the University’s Main Gate using the details on communal noticeboards**

Social Events

All social events are currently suspended until further notice. We urge all students to practice social distancing.

Office and Living Support

LSAs are still carrying our their office hour but if you are going in person to the office please keep 1- 2m distance away. If possible please phone instead of going to see the on duty LSA in person. LSAs will only come to your flat for very urgent reasons.

We have been advised that Nightline is still running an instant messaging service between 7pm and 12am, Monday- Friday. You can also email them. Please see their Facebook page for further information.  

Please note overnight guests are no longer allowed in your accommodation except in very exceptional circumstances. Visitors are not recommended and are banned completely from any flat where someone is self-isolating.

We would like to reassure everyone staying in University accommodation during the pandemic that your accommodation contract is secure and though services are reduced for the time being we are still checking emails and here to help you. Even though we are social distancing you are not alone and if you need additional support we will do our best to help you.
