Sport
Start out in Sport with GUSA's Active Buddy Scheme!
If you're keen on getting involved in the gym but don't know how or where to get started, the GUSA Active Buddies programme may be just for you!
Taking up a new sport or joining a new gym can be a daunting experience, especially if you're on your own. Thanks to Glasgow University Sports Association's (GUSA) Active Buddy Scheme you can now join with a BUDDY who will guide, support and encourage you as you start your fitness journey!
GUSA Buddy's are trained volunteers who'll inspire you to train well, develop your abilities and become more confident in the gym. Your Buddy will be matched as best as possible on areas such as your interests and availability so you'll hopefully make a new friend into the bargain!
How many weeks would the programme last?
After an initial induction where you'll meet your Buddy and go for a tour of the facilities, you'll be provided with a free 4-week Fitness and Wellbeing gym membership which enables access to all UofG Sport facilities.
How to apply
If you'd like to get involved or would like more information about the programme just drop the team an email at gusa-vicepresident@glasgow.ac.uk and they'll be happy to help!
You'll also find an application form for the programme by scanning the QR code below.
Becoming a Buddy!
The GUSA team are currently recruiting volunteer Buddies to their new active wellbeing initiative so, if you're an experiences gym user who is passionate about fitness and love to help people achieve their potential, they'd love to hear from you!
For more information about getting involved just email gusa-vicepresident@glasgow.ac.uk.
